I have a big family: mother, father, two brothers, a little sister, and a lot of aunts, uncles and cousins. They all are absolutely different people and have different interests and jobs and it is not a surprise. Someone is a teacher and plays piano, someone is an officer and his hobby is gardening, someone is a director and he likes cars and speed, someone is a chef and adores rock music. In spite of everything, they are very good, kind and responsible people and I love them all very much. But there is Uncle Roger among all my relatives. He spoils the wonderful picture of our family. Everyone hardly likes him, but he is a part of our family and nevertheless we like him in our own way. He is broker and he is rather rich. Both he and his wife have posh cars and wide apartment in the centre of our city. After these words you can consider him rather good man. But he is selfish, greedy, impolite and rude middle age man. He is sure that everyone obliged to him. But as people say many a good cow hath an evil calf. Three years ago I had the most wonderful event in whole my life - wedding. I was too excited about this and invited all my relatives and Uncle Roger with his wife too. First I didn't want to invite them, but I just couldn't refuse them to come on my wedding; otherwise they would be offended on me. The celebration was magnificent if didn't take into consideration uncle Roger's grumbling about sour champagne, rubbery steak, unfashionable ware on the table and dull music. After the day I and the new member of our family - my husband David - opened our wedding presents I with a curious horror decided to open a present of Uncle Roger and his wife. I even scared supposed what they could put there. I had different ideas: a frame for photo, a set of towels, and a cooked book about how to cook meat or just a card with best wishes. They used to make presents cheaper than fifty or sixty dollars. Then I decided to stop my fantasy and I just opened the box. To my big surprise there was a set of plastic set of ware consisting of four dishes and four cups, the most expensive gift that they ever presented. Nevertheless I was gad to their gift. But when Uncle Roger usually comes to visit us he doesn't like eat from his plastic wedding present he asks a posh china set of ware. So, that is Uncle Roger. | |
